It is the opinon of the medical professionals who are responsible for my care that I will probably not live to be an OLD woman, giving me even more reason to live by the philosopy "It's not how much time you have, it's what you do with the time you've got." A variety of bone and joint related issues that are the result of childhood abuse and lack of proper medical care in childhood, coupled with an adult onset, non-epileptic seizure disorder make my life challenging sometimes, and I my daily fight is to make the most of my life, despite my limitations.

The people I love and am loved by are an important support system to me. In my romantic relationship, I am devoted to the point of obsession (thankfully, my fiancee deals with this well), and in my friendships and familial relationships, I tend to be fiercly loyal, loving, and more than a BIT of a "mother hen". But I CARE. Deeply. Sometimes a bit too much so for some people's tastes, and if that bothers you, I'm probably not what you are looking for in any way.

I recently turned thirty-three, and have been happily engaged for over a year now. I am determined to make my thirties my decade. I have wonderful friends, family, two darling dogs, and a fiancee who struggles to be my "rock" even when he is sometimes on shakey ground himself. I love him for that and a million other reasons.

I am a birth order "eldest child" if you are in to that sort of analyzation. I have one brother by blood, and one sister who is not blood related, but she grew up in our home. I also have various "surrogate siblings" that I have collected over the years. I am the loving aunt of three beautiful children that belong to my brother, a nephew and a niece that belong to my "sister", and I'm the "honorary" aunt of three more boys that belong to a dear friend. I adore them all!

When it comes to hobbies, Iâ??m a total geek. I build and maintain my own computers, and those of a few other people, although I'm not even close to being the real "computer guru" in my social circle.

I love knitting, crochet, needlepoint, costuming (especially Ren Faire), sewing, cooking, reading, and I fancy myself a bit of a writer of fiction and even worse poetry. I have turned my knitting and needle craft into a charity project that takes up quite a lot of my free time, I run a satellite chapter of Head Huggers/Miracles Happen (www.headhuggers.org and www.miracleshappen.us, respectively). As Head Huggers, we produce handmade hats for those (particularly children) who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, brain surgery, or alopecia. As Miracles Happen, we produce handmade items for newborns and infants for distribution at women's shelters, unwed mother's homes, and neonatal care units. I am a firm believer that EVERYONE should have at least one charitable involvment in their lives. It takes us out of ourselves, makes us feel usefull even when we are at our worst, teaches us compassion, and ultimately makes us MORE than the sum of our parts. I don't want to be preaching, so I'll move on.

I love inside jokes and cheesy horror movies. Iâ??m impulsive. I keep varied hours and love to go driving for no reason (although I'm not allowed to drive very often right now due to seizures). I'm a bit of an intellectual, and I ADORE people I can connect with intellectually. I love animals: dogs, cats, horses, lizards, snakes, rabbits, just about anything. I sleep with two fans blowing onto my bed from different directions, and once told my (now ex) husband that it was â??to create crosswinds so that helicopters canâ??t land on my bed while I sleepâ??. I have an odd sense of humor.

Iâ??m a â??traditionalist with feminist leaningsâ??. I ENJOY doing some things that are stereotyped as â??womanâ??s workâ?? like cooking and being primarily responsible for the house, at least to the extent of deciding where everything goes and what color the furniture should be. I donâ??t mind being the primary homemaker, but it's really not my goal to be just a housewife - I want to contribute EQUALLY to my relationship, but I don't think my contribution HAS to be financial to count.

When it comes to romantic relationships, I want to be a woman, the softer partner for the most part...although I CAN be a control freak sometimes. I want to feel secure, loved and wanted. Where to start..... I love books. I mostly read Fantasy. The Amazon Kindle is prob one of the best things I have ever purchased. My favorite authors include people like Raymond Fiest, Robin Hobb, and Brandon Sanderson. If there is nothing else going on I am very content to sit around and read.

I enjoy fishing, hiking, and just spending time outdoors. Despite my sometimes bookworm tendencies I am just as likely to want to go on a hike as play a computer game; however, that does not mean I can not be persuaded to try other things as well.

Going through a new phase of my life and I would really like some companionship along the way. I like to have fun and be with others. But also, I value my personal time to do my own things. I enjoy writing and I'm a total film geek because I watch movies way too much. I joke a lot about masturbation. I make self-depreciating jokes. I have a strange duality of ambition and self-destruction that take turns running my life (something that will probably be a life-long battle).

I have a great (and weird, and dark) sense of humor. Over the years, however, you learn that humor is usually just covering someone's inner turmoil. The oxymoron cliche of the crying clown is unfortunately true. Knowing this makes "funny people" really bittersweet. I, admittedly, sometimes hide behind humor... but it's a fabulous social lubricant.

I am a self-described geek because I'm not smart enough to be a nerd (such a liar... or am I?), and I enjoy dating fan-boys (those pale souls that read too many comic books and debate over star trek vs. star wars). Certain brands of geekdom can be very hot. I don't suffer fools well.

I am an advocate for the legalization of marijuana, mainly because I smoke it. If this turns you off, that's fine, because freedom of choice is what I'm all about. Just, please, don't buy into the government's propaganda too much, okay? Cannabis is illegal because of the sub/cultures associated with it at the time of it's prohibition (Latinos, blacks, beatniks, hippies, pacifists, etc.) that our country didn't like, and we've bullied the rest of the globe into OUR prohibition policy (and history supports me on this one). I however love Latinos, blacks, beatniks, hippies (so long as they bathe...ha), and pacifists (like Smokey in The Big Lebowski), so I'm down with the green.

I'm a libertarian (because of the personal freedoms, not because I think we should start letting companies dump toxic waste in the water table...thankyouverymuch). I am open-minded about politics and love to talk CALMLY about political matters.

Penn Jillette is a personal inspiration to me. As was George Carlin, Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks, and anyone else that preached common sense (or talked dirty).

I have a strange affection for miniature things, and boxes. interesting shaped boxes, regular square or rectangular ones. I like that they are decorative and useful simultaneously. Someday I would like to build from a kit a dollhouse and then populate its inside with furniture and decorations. I had one as a girl and I adored it very much. Maybe it will be a hobby when I'm an old lady. I also like to go to coffee shops with my friends and play canasta. We're practising for the retirement home. I am a fan of night time driving, just for the sake of it. I know I'm wasting the dinosaurs that way, but it's a pleasure of mine. I also love road-trips in general. I would very much like to travel about the U.S. someday and have the opportunity to visit the romantic, nostalgia of 1940-50's road tripping. The sights, and stops, the souvenirs, Polaroid snapshots and learning to fall in love with this country in a whole new way.

School is my current preoccupation. I can totally see the light at the end of the tunnel of graduation, and I'm trying to make the last few months as fun as possible before moving on to the real world.

I am into rock climbing, slacklining, swing sets, traveling, exploring, discovering, nutella, books... I like to read them... not just look at them.

I really want to start kayaking, and when spring melt comes around, I want to find some whitewater. I have never been on a hot air balloon ride, and I want to change that someday soon.

To summarize myself would be difficult since I am changing everyday. Most days I wake up with a glass half full mindset. I love trying new things and living life to the fullest. Some days I wake up and feel restless and I have to try something new. I have no filter on my mouth and if I think something there is a pretty good chance it will come flying out of my mouth faster than you can say tortoise shell. I am extremely extroverted and I have never met a stranger. I have even been accused of picking up strays wherever I go.

I love music, dancing(especially in movie theaters and coffee shops and other random non dancing places), and movies. I enjoy laughing and having fun. I like bike riding and taking walks in the park. I am pretty easy going most of the time.

I have very liberal views of religion and consider myself more spiritual than religious. I am also more liberal with politics than the majority of my fellow Okies. I like who I am and I make no excuses for being awesome.
